A Little About Me

For over 20 years, I lived abroad in Japan, China, the Philippines, Lithuania, and Germany. Immersed in diverse cultures and healing traditions, my understanding of wellness expands far beyond conventional approaches. I began to see health not as symptom management, but as a balance of body, mind, energy, and nutrition.

My personal healing journey began in 2010 after a series of required vaccinations led to a significant decline in my health. Each month, I experienced intense abdominal pain for nearly ten days at a time. The options offered focused on suppressing symptoms — but deep down, I knew my body was asking for real solutions.

Yoga became my first anchor. Through breath and mindful movement, I began rebuilding trust in my body. In 2013, I traveled to India to complete my Hatha Yoga Teacher Training, deepening my understanding of the mind-body connection.

While living in China, I immersed myself in Tai Chi and Qi Gong at a local school. These slow, intentional practices taught me how to cultivate and circulate life force energy rather than deplete it. They brought steadiness, improved circulation, and a new relationship with my own vitality.

As my physical healing progressed, I felt called to explore the energetic dimension of wellness. I studied Integrated Healing Dynamics in 2011 and later completed Reiki Levels I & II, eventually becoming a Reiki Master and Teacher. Reiki became both a personal and professional cornerstone — a gentle yet powerful way to support nervous system regulation, energetic balance, and deep restoration.

Nutrition was another essential piece in my healing journey. My studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) nutrition began in Shanghai and later evolved into what I now call Life Force Nutrition — a way of eating that considers the energetic qualities of food and how it supports the body’s natural healing process.

Through years of daily practice, study, and inner work, I fully healed from the chronic pain that once dictated my life.

Today, I integrate Reiki, mindful movement (Yoga, Tai Chi & Qi Gong), meditation, and Life Force Nutrition to guide others back to their center. My work is not about quick fixes — it is about strengthening your life force, cultivating balance, and remembering your body’s innate ability to heal.

If you feel called to move toward deeper wellness, I would be honored to support you on that path.

‚The reiki experience is one of a kind. I am so grateful for you introducing me to it. I will never be the same. Your knowledge on how to work with the universe life force energy is a gift. I feel good, I feel straight and more balanced. At work yesterday I felt like I was balanced with more concentration and clear minded and more alert. I appreciate you and the reiki experience, it truly is life changing.‘

Frequently Asked Questions

Learn More about Lori

Where was your favorite place to live?

Every country has good and bad things. However, I really loved living in China. I enjoyed the realness of the people, the food, learning the language, and the vast cultural and traditional knowledge I had access to.

Did you experience culture shock?

My biggest culture shock was in The Phillipines, where there is a huge divide between the rich and the poor people. I saw poverty on the streets and security protected communities with multiple cars outside their massive homes. It hurt my heart to see the desparity.

how did you adapt to eating different foods?

Funnily enough, I was a very picky eater when I lived in Canada. When I first moved to Japan I thought I would have to live off of rice cause I wasn’t fond of fish. However, as I continued to experiement with different foods, my taste buds changed and I began enjoy a more diverse range of textures and flavours. I now consider myself a kitchen goddess as I love creating and eating healthy plant based foods.

What made you want to leave Canada?

The cold Manitobian winters was at the top of my list for reasons to leave Canada.  Following closely behind was the ability to pay off my student loan faster if I worked in Japan. I was also very interested to learn about different cultures and traditions.

why did you come back to your home town?

I have a few reasons; my heart was calling me to be closer to family, to be able to do my work in English, to be a part of a local community and to have access to nature on a daily basis.

How are you managing through Manitoban winters now?

A few years ago I started mentally preparing myself for my return to Manitoba, one thing I knew was that I needed an outdoor activity I could access right out my back door.  Snowshoeing has now become my absolute favourite outdoor activity. I can honestly say a part of me loves winter now. (mindset is key)
